So the journey begins, the day after thanksgiving so that
made for some late night packing. Suzanne and I were picked up promptly at
3:30AM by West Florida Limousines. The ride was very nice and the driver very
friendly. We got there on time and got on the first flight of 2 hours to
Houston, TX on United Airlines.
Once in Texas we found that our seats were not together and
so I tried to talk to the airline to have it resolved. We thought nothing could be done, but right
before we boarded we got upgraded to business class. Wow! That is an impressive
way to fly. They have seats that almost recline entirely, free meals and
drinks. They even had a home-made ice cream bar. It was an amazingly
comfortable 8 hours to Hawaii.
On arrival in Honolulu we made our way to the Sheraton
Wakiki and rested before heading to the beach bar for a dinner. The hotel was
very comfortable and had a beautiful view of the ocean. I wish we had the time
to spend an extra day there just to relax.
Stay tuned for our next day!
